Notes for Mom

I've been thinking about you this week. More detail coming next letter.

The Weather Here

The week opens with cool, partly cloudy days and nights that still carry a sharp bite of late-winter chill β€” and tonight the full moon rises fat and bright, painting the pastures silver if the clouds part long enough to let it through. Come mid-week, the valley breathes into the low seventies before a gentle rainy stretch settles in Tuesday and Wednesday, giving the fields a slow, steady drink. By Thursday the warmth fades and a soft fog rolls in off the mountains, leaving the farm hushed and still in that quiet, unhurried way only a cool spring morning can manage.

The Animals

Deus Ex Machina

Deus is doing well and keeping things interesting around here.

The Kittens

The three little ones are doing well. Getting bigger every day.

Jax

Jax had a good week. Slow walks, sunny spots, the usual.

The Colony

The outdoor crew is doing well. We make sure they're fed and looked after.

From My Week

From this week.

A Question For You

What's been the best part of your week?

Answer this →

For You This Week

Sow a short row of Provider bush beans along a sunny edge of the garden this week β€” the Shenandoah soil is finally warm enough, and they'll be on your table by the Fourth of July.
